Typically we ship your items on Mondays and Thursdays. Occasionally, we package your orders later in the day or the next morning so you’ll receive your shipping notice then. No matter when we package and ship them you’ll receive a shipping notification and tracking number. This will be emailed to the email address you used when purchasing your yarn.

Pre-orders ship on or before their shipping date. You will receive a shipping notification at the email you used when checking out.

I want you to be delighted with your yarn! As we all know, screens can vary and can make finding the color you want difficult or intimidating. I’m happy to help with this by offer hassle-free exchanges. If you get your yarn and it’s not quite what you were imagining, you can contact me within 15 days of receipt and I’ll be happy to exchange it for you.

I recommend hand washing all hand-made items. Some can be machine washed. Please see the label for more details.

Requests for specific colors, bases, and quantities are welcome.

Fairy Tale Yarn Co yarns are tie-dyed, speckle-dyed, or a combination of the 2. All are dyed by hand. This means that every hank is unique. It’s always best to order all the yarn in a colorway that you need at the same time to ensure they are in the same dye lot. Alternating hanks of yarn will give you the evenest distribution of color.  All yarn is rinsed in very warm water to ensure it does not bleed. Even with this, your yarn may still bleed. This can be because of the difference in water or from the wool wash. It is best to test the yarn (such as when you are swatching) before using multiple colorways together. If your yarn does bleed simply run it under cool to lukewarm water until the water is clear.

If you need multiple yarns for a project, it is highly recommended that you purchase them at the same time so that they can come from the same dye lot. Some of the brighter colors can bleed, even though they have been rinsed multiple times, if you notice this run under cold water until water is clear.
